The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1974 to serve the greater northwest area of Harris County. Visionary citizens chartered the Chamber and today it has grown to over 750 members serving an area of approximately 500,000 residents.
The northwest region has operated primarily as an unincorporated area without the benefit of town hall, mayor or main street. The Chamber of Commerce has partnered closely with county commissioners, elected officials and community organizations to fill the void by working to improve the area for both businesses and families.
The mission of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce is developing successful businesses and a thriving community.
Message from the President
Dear Friends of the Northwest Community,
We have much to celebrate in northwest Houston and Harris County!
- Grow Northwest, the Chamber's economic development initiative
- Projects on the move: Exxon-Mobil campus, the Grand Parkway, Southwestern Energy and Noble Energy facilities, new home developments...
- Higher education explosion in our area with the opening of various facilities housing a dozen universities serving our desirable demographic
- The Cypress Creek Cultural District which houses the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Art, the Centrum, Barbara Bush Library, Cypress Creek Community Center and the Harris County Precinct 4 Courthouse. We are an arts destination!
We must be diligent in focusing public and private dollars on projects that will maintain and improve our infrastructure and amenities. We can be proud of the community efforts that brought us the Green Medians, a 45-acre Lone Star College System complex and a park system that when complete, will be unparalleled in Texas.
Join us in our crusade to improve business and community. Join us in our visioning efforts so that we create a future that is well-conceived and representative of our entire community. Join our Chamber and be a part of building successful businesses and a thriving community!
